Swimming should be safe for trans people.
When asked what we would do for a day if all the cis people disappeared, the answer was overwhelming.
“I would go swimming.”
Swimming is hard for trans people. Swimsuits often cause extreme dysphoria, and we have to wear extra layers to hide our bodies. We can’t wear bikinis or go topless because it would not only cause crippling anxiety and dysphoria, it could put our lives in danger. People hate us. People see us as a danger.
Swimming should be safe. Make swimming by deconstructing your transphobia and calling it out when you see it in others.
Swimming should be safe.
